IMPORTANT NOTES -

General tips:

  • Parking near ART is scarce; plan accordingly. MAX stops right out front.
  • This is a job interview; dress professionally. You want them paying attention to your audition, not your wardrobe. We encourage you to wear “quiet” shoes, and keep hair out of your face.
  • Avoid making eye contact with auditors while you are acting. Focus above or between them instead.
  • Props are not allowed, however a chair will be available at the side of the stage if you need one.

Sheet music:

  • The notes should be big enough for the accompanist to read clearly. Mark start and finish clearly.
  • Make sure there are no staff lines missing in the copy; darken your copy if necessary.
  • Don’t cut off notes at the bottom of the page; reduce to 95% when copying so that everything fits.
  • To provide a tempo, don’t give a metronome setting; demonstrate the tempo you want.

Canceling your audition:

  • If you need to cancel your audition, contact info@portlandtheatre.com, or call 971-803-7712.
  • No-shows on audition day will be suspended from the audition process for the following year.
  • No refunds are available for cancellations.

Please remember, PATA Board Members and volunteers will be there to help you on your audition day.

We’re all rooting for you…So break a leg!
