STAY Connected!
"When`s the next one!?"
This was a question we heard multiple times at our Community Gathering last month. For the first time since the pandemic, PATA held an in-person community event to help keep our theatre community connected and collaborating. 70+ people attended this event, hosted by member company Bridgetown Conservatory in their lovely new space at the Tiffany Center downtown.
We hope you will join us for our next in-person gathering this summer. Keep an eye out for date and location!
*If you have a space that can accommodate 50+ people at a time and are interested in hosting a PATA community gathering, please email info@portlandtheatre.com. Hosts of these events are only responsible for providing the space - and are marketed in all community communications regarding the event.*

In this three-hour workshop, we’ll use drawing, solo and group movement, and music as tools for connecting deeply and spontaneously with others, essential skills that may be rusty after years of Pandemic separation and digital overload.
These practices can be applied on or off the stage—we welcome performers and non-performers alike to join us as we explore ways of communication beyond language and find ease and joy in sharing space again.
All PATA workshops and classes are offered on a sliding scale with additional discounts for members. Visit the link in our bio to register today!

Help shape the future of theatre in the Portland area!
Do you want to know a secret? Well... it`s not really a secret, but something that a lot of our community members don`t realize is that PATA is an organization run almost enitrely by passionate volunteers who want to make Portland and surrounding areas a vibrant, sustainable place to create theatre (plus a little bit of admin help to keep things running).
We exist solely because of theatre makers and lovers who want to make a difference. If you are one of those people, we would love for you to join us in our mission!
Check out our (fabulous new) website to learn more about what we do and how you can help.

We could use a couple more volunteers to help at the upcoming Community Gathering. If you`re available to come a little early to help set up, or stay a little late to help clean up, send us an email at info@portlandtheatre.com. Thanks and see you there!

PATA was excited to be a part of the Oregon Thespian Society State Festival last week! Over 1500 theatre students and teachers from around the State showed up to learn, compete, and share their love for theatre. We were able to come face to face with the next generation of Oregon theatre makers - and we can confirm that the future of theatre is bright in Oregon.
Were you at the Festival? What was your favorite part? (It`s ok if it was the treats that PATA was handing out!)

Join us April 30th at 6:30pm for PATA’s In-Person Spring Community Gathering! Enjoy some light refreshments and rub elbows with other PDX artists - hosted by PATA member company Bridgetown Conservatory at the Tiffany Center.

We were so busy assembling over 100 actor submissions into the CGA digital audition binder that we forgot to remind everyone of today’s deadline for auditor registration.
Therefore, we’ve decided to extend the deadline through this Friday, April 14th.
Registration is open to all PATA member companies for FREE, and any non-member producing entities for a $50 fee.
The CGAs provide an opportunity for a wide variety of actors from across the Portland area (and a few from farther beyond) to connect with local producers and casting agencies.
When you register to audit, you`ll receive a PDF (what we call the "digital binder") and spreadsheet containing each actor`s headshot, resume, audition video, and additional information such as location, vocal range, ethnicity, and union status.
The auditions are a mix of monologues-only, songs-only, and monologue/song, depending on the casting interests of the performer.
You do not need to be currently casting in order to participate. The audition binder is a great resource for building your actor database - whether you just want to get to know some new faces, or you`re looking to fill a hard-to-cast role.
Your company information will also be shared with the actors who audition so they can get to know more about you and keep their eyes out for future opportunities to work with you or see your shows.
For anyone registering today through Friday, materials will be sent out by Saturday, April 15th.
Register now at the link in our bio!
