This 2-part, in-person series will focus on Acting with Ease, a thorough exploration of performing using improvisation, relaxation, connectivity, and action based tactics. These tools will be used to enhance your ability of allowance in a performance to bring about a more organic action/reaction nature of your work.
Take away the “supposed to be” hinders of a performance and leave it open to genuine feelings and exploration that is at the root of “play”. Students will be highly encouraged to bring their own monologues or scenes that they wish to work on, if not, there shall be some material provided for work through.
Instructor: Demetri Tostado
Demetri Tostado is a long time student of the theatrical arts. He is schooled from Cal State Fullerton where he studied Acting and Playwriting. After school, he made that crazy fever dream of grinding to become a working performer in Los Angeles and Orange County. He is honored to share what he knows so all may grow as much as possible in the pursuit of mastering their craft.
Dates/times: Saturday April 1st & 8th, 12pm – 2:30pm
Class size is limited to 16 people, with a minimum of 4. Students will be notified at least 24 hours in advance if class is cancelled due to low enrollment.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made 7 days prior to the start of class will receive a full refund. After that period, full or partial refunds will be at the discretion of PATA. For cancellation requests, please email info@portlandtheatre.com. If you are experiencing any COVID symptoms, or have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID, please do not come to class. We will work with you to provide a refund or class credit if needed.
Please note: in order to qualify for the member discount, you must have a paid, Individual or Company level membership. Up to 3 people per company may attend at the discounted rates, and all must be actively working for the organization which holds the membership.
