Rooted, Rested, Revitalized: Audition with Vision
(a three-part workshop series)
Facilitated by Caitlin Lushington at The Actors Conservatory
Have you ever worked an audition piece to death? Ever gotten so wrapped up in trying to get things exactly right that somewhere along the way, auditioning stops being fun? In this 3-workshop series, you will root yourself in a clear vision for how you want to grow this audition season. You will explore rest as a pathway back to joy in your audition process. And you will revivify your audition pieces, finding ease & vitality in your performance!
$100 for all 3 workshops, or $39 per workshop
Workshop 1: Audition Vision
What if you could stride into audition season with a vibrant vision or a clear sense of purpose? Use this workshop to name and clarify some (achievable!) goals for audition season that can empower you over the next few months. Plus, bring the piece(s) you’re considering for PATAs and audition season and engage with a playful exercise designed to help you choose a piece(s) that lights you up.
Saturday, January 25th 11:00am – 1:00pm
Workshop 2: Audition Game-ification
Bring your audition piece(s) and let’s play! In this supportive group setting, you’ll put your audition pieces on your feet and learn how to game-ify your own audition preparation process, building self-trust and confidence in assessing and developing your own work.
Saturday, February 8th 11:00am – 1:00pm
Workshop 3: Audition Resilience
Bring your audition piece(s) one last time, performing for a wildly enthusiastic room full of fellow actors, and then — rest. That’s right, lie down and put your feet up and celebrate how far you’ve come! We will talk about what rest actually is, the vital role of rest in your creative process, and make some plans for how you will rest post-audition.
Saturday, February 15th 11:00am – 1:00pm
