Downward Facing – Atelier Festival

The second new play featured in Fuse Theatre Ensemble’s Atelier Festival is the new play “Downward Facing” by Mishelle Apalategui, directed by Molly Shevaun Reed.

Featuring performances from Obadiah Noakes, Alex Blesi, Caitlin Nolan, Jessica Tidd, and Kelsea Ashenbrenner, this fully staged production is a poignant montage of what it looks like when there is no home to run back to.

While the neighborhood around them changes rapidly, Flax is stuck sitting on the stoop they call home, trying to make sense of it with their only friend as a new tenant sets up her yoga studio on the other side of the door. Meanwhile, newly pregnant Jenna grasps at her own changing reality as she tries to make an unexpected relationship work.
