Marketing Associate (PT)

About the Position:
Part-time, 30 hours/week to be mutually scheduled between 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday. There may be an occasional evening or weekend shift that would be scheduled in advance for special events. Hourly wage is $18.00 per hour, depending on experience. CLICK HERE for a full job description.

This position is under the supervision of the Executive Director and Development Manager. This position works closely with all divisions, business-to-business and with the public. Your workstation will be in the main office at Lakewood, a hub of non-stop activity. Being self-motivated with an eye for detail and design while in a busy environment is necessary. We are looking for a communicator who can hit deadlines and balance their schedule between marketing and graphic design.

Responsibilities include

    1. Managing the development, distribution, and maintenance of print and electronic collateral. Maintain relationships with printing companies and advertisers.
    2. Projects for promotional materials, development collateral, event materials and organization collateral.
    3. Create and maintain content for online presence (Lakewood’s website and social media). Experience in WordPress is preferred.
    4. Calendar Management (internal and for public events)
    5. Reporting and Analytics
    6. Assist Executive Director and the Development office on other tasks as needed

Qualifications include

  • Communication expertise. You know how to be proactive and communicate the right message in the right context. And you can deliver your message in different mediums and formats including emails, meetings, newsletters, etc.
  • Publishing & Design experience. You know how to build documents in InDesign, edit images in Photoshop, build a spreadsheet, run a mail merge and send the job to a print house without mishap.
  • Collaborative and adaptable style. We often work in a committee structure and have group reviews and editing of materials. These groups can include staff, artists, donors, board members, volunteers or other supporters. You listen to their input and adapt to style while fulfilling a list of requirements for a project. You are able to solve problems creatively and offer potential options.
  • Self-starter and self-disciplined. You are able to work independently on concurrent projects with multiple deadlines. Procrastination is not a word in your vocabulary. A mature approach to organizing your workflow sets you up for success and stops stress in its tracks.

Experience required
Includes fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, WordPress, social media platforms, and website experience. Must be willing to learn new software or techniques as needed. A degree in English or another communications field is preferred. Current students or other candidates with 2+ years of experience in marketing are also eligible. Experience working or volunteering in nonprofits is preferred. Management experience is also welcomed.
