On the Rocks

Our “playwrights’ open mic” format On the Rocks is back!

At On the Rocks, local playwrights bring in short pieces they are working on. While a local musician performs a set, we match the plays with our actors’ group, who cold read the pieces. After each, we do a short talkback with the playwright. When it’s all over, we hang out and build community.

This month, we are excited to be collaborating with Northwest Theatre Workshop. Each of the pieces presented at our March On the Rocks event comes from playwrights in the current NWTW cohort.

On the Rocks is where we get to come together in community to celebrate local artists, lift-up emerging playwrights, and witness an early and exciting step in the creative process – hearing a play read aloud by actors for the first time!
