Location TBD
Get prepared for this year’s annual Unified Shakespeare & Classical Auditions.
This workshop will help you to bring your monologue alive and enjoy more creative freedom in performing classical material. The work will include individualized attention on each actor’s audition, with a focus on finding the connection to (and through) the material while allowing the classical language to enrich the acting process. When relevant, we will explore the cultural context of a piece in order to enhance understanding and more fully engage with the material in the present moment.
This workshop will give you the chance to get coached on one (or more) of your audition pieces so that you can submit an audition you feel great about – and enjoy yourself while doing it!
Actors should come prepared with at least one memorized monologue from classical or Shakespeare material (under 2 minutes in length). If there’s time, you may have the option to work on a second monologue.
