Feste meets Fargo in this post-holiday Christmas comedy! Speculative Drama, known for their immersive theatrical performances, teams up with locally owned veteran dive bar Angelo’s on Hawthorne and 46th for a unique production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Evoking the feeling of “Oregon Shakespeare Festival meets Sleep No More” this fully immersive event follows the drunks, Dukes, and accidental drag kings of Illyria as they fall in, and out of love through a series of hijinks, hiccups, and holiday mayhem in a small town where “everybody knows your name”.
Opening ON Twelfth Night with a special preview showing, come down on the 6th of January and mention “epiphany” at the door for a holiday treat!
All tickets pay-what-you-will. 100% of ticket sales and donations go directly to cast and crew. Press comps available please contact speculative.drama@gmail.com

Speculative Drama aims to reclaim the relevance of myths, fairy tales, and classical texts through immersive, live theatrical performances. Our goal is to better reflect the diversity of the communities which we serve, and to show fellow people of marginalized identities that we, too, have a place in the classics. Through movement theatre, immersive staging, and site-specific production in an ongoing collaboration with local underground performance venue The Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven, we explore the intersection of classic stories and unconventional storytelling. Combining the principles of environmental theatre, rich and immersive soundscapes, and an extremely intimate setting, we create an atmosphere of inclusion and innovation while honoring and maintaining the original texts or source materials.
